本书卷为赵孟頫传世名作，亦是其晚年（68岁）得意作品。故风神精绝，于笔意虚和中愈见平怀淡宕之致。署款“至治元年（1321年）二月望日建”。卷末书六篆字“光福重建塔记”。卷后有董其昌、司马通伯等题跋，钤“大雅”、“赵氏书印”朱文印。

光福寺位于吴县邓尉山龟峰，始建于梁大同年间。寺内原塔至元代已石瓦堕废，延佑元年由僧众化缘重新建造，于次年五月竣工，至治元年立碑记，住持沙门了清撰写碑文，赵孟頫书并篆题。
